Skiathos is a small Greek island in the northwest Aegean Sea. Skiathos is the westernmost island in the Northern Sporades group, east of the Pelion peninsula in Magnesia on the mainland, and west of the island of Skopelos.
The white pebble beach at Lalaria is one of the most famous in the Greek Islands and featured on most postcards of Skiathos. Steep sun-bleached limestone cliffs drop to a long beach of white stones and pebble that create aquamarine waters that get cameras clicking constantly. The beach is accessible only by boat, weather permitting.
Koukounaries is the most famous beach on Skiathos and has won many awards as the one of the finest beaches in Greece, if not the whole Mediterranean. The beach has a long gently curved crescent of fine golden sand and is well shaded along its whole length by pine trees and shrubs. There are tavernas offering the basics, watersport centres and several small wooden kiosks.
Agia Eleni beach on Skiathos island is a quiet sandy cove that lies just north of, and over the headland from, the more popular Banana Beach.
Night life in Skiathos is great…..
We had souvlaki and gyro nearly every day in Greece. Miss this so much!
